What's on in El Sauzal
El Sauzal is a small town on the green northern coast of Tenerife, set on the slopes above the sea between Tacoronte and La Orotava. This is wine country — vines and banana terraces run down towards the cliffs, and the views over the Atlantic are some of the best on the island. It's a quiet, local place, more about a slow afternoon and a glass of the local red than any resort scene.
The fiestas are properly traditional. The Fiestas of San Pedro Apóstol honour the patron saint, and the Fiestas of the Virgen de los Ángeles bring more village celebrations through the year.
