Santa Úrsula Farmers' Market (Mercadillo del Agricultor)
A weekly farmers' market in the green hills above the Orotava Valley, open every Saturday morning. Local growers sell fruit, vegetables, honey and beekeeping products, fresh bread, sweets and handmade crafts — an easy, low-key taste of authentic northern Tenerife.
Most visitors stick to the south coast and never make it up here, which is rather the point. Santa Úrsula sits in the green hills above the Orotava Valley, and on Saturday mornings its farmers' market fills with growers who've driven in from the surrounding slopes. You'll find proper Tenerife produce — tomatoes, papayas, avocados, bunches of herbs — alongside local honey and beekeeping bits, warm bread, sweets and a few stalls of handmade crafts.
It's a small, unhurried sort of market, more useful than scenic, and all the better for it. Come early while the bread is fresh and the best fruit hasn't gone. Entry is free, and it pairs nicely with a wander round the village afterwards. Bring cash and a bag.
