Tegueste Farmers Market (Mercado del Agricultor)
One of northern Tenerife's best-loved farmers markets, with 30+ local growers selling seasonal fruit and veg, artisan bread, cheese, honey, wine, prepared food and handmade crafts. Open every Saturday and Sunday morning, with a food area and a children's playground, in the green Tegueste valley a short drive from La Laguna.
Get here early on a Saturday or Sunday morning and you'll find the Tegueste valley doing what it does best: more than thirty local growers laying out whatever the week brought in. Seasonal fruit and veg, warm artisan bread, island cheeses, honey, eggs, wine, flowers and the odd table of handmade bits. It's free to wander, and most stallholders are happy to chat about what they're selling, even if your Spanish is patchy.
The food area is the bit to linger over. Grab a tapa, find a seat under the pergolas and watch families catch up over coffee while kids peel off to the playground. Look out for the old 1930s threshing machine on display, restored and parked up as a nod to the valley's farming roots. Doors are open from 8am until 2pm, and it runs all year. A short drive from La Laguna, and worth the detour.
