What's on in Colera

Colera is a tiny village near the French border at the northern end of the Costa Brava, tucked into a cove where a dry riverbed meets a small shingle-and-sand beach. It's about as low-key as this coast gets — a handful of streets, a couple of restaurants and not much development — backed by the rocky Albera hills and a short drive from the larger town of Portbou. People come here for quiet, walking and swimming rather than nightlife.

Being small, its calendar is intimate: the Festa Petita is the village's own little festival, and Calcoval combines carnival with a calcotada, the Catalan feast of grilled spring onions. The Periferia Cultural series brings concerts such as Judit Nedderman and Guillaume Lopez. Here's what's on while you're here.
