What's on in Fuencaliente de la Palma
Fuencaliente sits at the southern tip of La Palma, a scattered upland village wrapped in vineyards and pine forest, with the island's youngest volcanoes — Teneguía and San Antonio — rising just below it and a lighthouse and salt pans down at the coast. It's quiet, high and green-going-on-black, the kind of place where the wine and the volcanic landscape are the whole point.
That wine takes centre stage at the Fuencaliente Wine Fair, now in its fourth year, a tasting of the local malvasía and listán grown on these slopes, while Canary Islands Day brings folk music and island traditions to the village. Here's what's on while you're here.
