What's on in Granadilla de Abona

Granadilla de Abona is a large municipality in southern Tenerife that runs from a historic hill town down to the coast. The old town up the slope is the quiet, traditional part; down on the sea are the surf-and-windsurf beach of El Médano and the small fishing harbour of Los Abrigos, known for its seafood restaurants. It's a real working corner of the island, with the airport close by.

The fiestas span both halves. The Los Abrigos fiestas honour San Blas and the Virgen del Carmen down by the harbour, while the main town fiestas celebrate San Antonio de Padua and the Virgen del Rosario. El Médano adds the Caña Solidaria charity beer-and-music festival, and there are kids' activity days through the summer. Here's what's on while you're here.
