What's on in Rojales
Rojales sits on the river Segura at the southern end of the Costa Blanca, an old town built around its 18th-century bridge and a set of cave houses carved into the rock and now used by local artisans. Inland from the beaches of Guardamar, it draws a big international community, but the historic core keeps its Spanish character.
Its fiestas are proper Costa Blanca affairs. The patron saint festival of San Pedro comes with full Moors and Christians parades, companies in elaborate costume filling the streets. For something different, the Rodeo Film Fest is a short-film festival now in its eighth year. Here's what's on while you're here.
