Haría lies in the green north of Lanzarote, in the so-called Valley of a Thousand Palms — a soft, leafy pocket that feels nothing like the island's black volcanic south. The artist César Manrique kept his last home here, and the village has a slow, arty calm to it.
Its best-known event is the Haría artisan market, held on Saturdays in the village square under the palms, where local craftspeople and food stalls set up.
