What's on in Haría

Haría lies in the green north of Lanzarote, in the so-called Valley of a Thousand Palms — a soft, leafy pocket that feels nothing like the island's black volcanic south. The artist César Manrique kept his last home here, and the village has a slow, arty calm to it.

Its best-known event is the Haría artisan market, held on Saturdays in the village square under the palms, where local craftspeople and food stalls set up. The San Juan Bautista patron saint festivities bring the village together in midsummer, and the vegan and gluten-free fair reflects the area's gentler, alternative streak.
