Moros i Cristians 2026 — Benidorm
Benidorm's patron-saint festival stages a lavish Moors-and-Christians spectacle of costumed parades and a beach landing.
Benidorm's Moros i Cristians is one of the Costa Blanca's most colourful traditions — a re-enactment of the historic struggle between Moors and Christians, told through filaes (companies) in sumptuous costume. The highlight is the dramatic Desembarco, a staged Moorish landing on the beach, followed by grand parades through the old town, music, gunpowder and pageantry.
What to expect. Spectacular processions and a seafront battle re-enactment rather than a fairground fiesta — a feast for the eyes, with thousands of costumed participants. Exact dates move year to year around the patron's festival, so check the local programme before you travel.
Practical bit. As an autumn event it falls outside the summer crush, but Benidorm still draws a crowd for it. The town is easy to get around on foot and by tram; a hire car is most useful for reaching the parades from a base elsewhere on the coast or combining the festival with the inland hill towns.
