Verbena de San Jaime 2026 — Benidorm
Benidorm marks St James's Day with a seafront verbena and a fireworks castle over the bay.
St James (Santiago) is the patron saint of Spain, and his day on 25 July is a national holiday marked up and down the country. In Benidorm it means a verbena — an open-air street party — along the seafront, with live music, dancing and a castillo de fuegos artificiales, a fireworks castle launched over the bay to close the night.
What to expect. A free, family-friendly evening on the promenade rather than a multi-day fiesta — a good excuse to be on the beachfront after dark in the middle of the summer. The fireworks are the centrepiece.
Practical bit. Falling on a public holiday, 25 July is busy everywhere, and Benidorm's car parks fill early. If you're staying outside town, aim to arrive in good time — and a hire car makes it easy to pair the verbena with the quieter beaches and coves north towards Altea and Calpe.
