11th Coves del Canelobre Mountain-Bike Ride (XI Marcha BTT)
A 38 km mountain-bike ride (about +900 m of climbing) through the rugged scenery around the Canelobre Caves, open to both BTT and e-bike riders and capped at 600 participants. Trophies for the top finishers and a medal for everyone who completes it.
Busot sits up in the dry, rocky hills behind Alicante, and this ride makes the most of every metre of them. Things kick off at 9am from the town's polideportivo, with up to 600 riders rolling out for a 38km loop that climbs around 900m through the limestone country near the Canelobre Caves. The terrain is proper mountain-bike fare: loose stone, steep pinches, and long views back down towards the coast once you've earned them. E-bikes are welcome alongside regular BTT machines, so the spread of riders is broad rather than purely elite.
Everyone who finishes gets a medal, with trophies going to the quickest men, women and local Busot riders. Sign-up runs through ChipLevante, and it tends to fill its 600 places, so it's worth booking ahead rather than turning up on the day. A solid morning out if you fancy testing your legs on real Costa Blanca hills.
