Vive Mijas de Noche - Summer Night Craft Market & Live Music
On summer evenings the historic centre of Mijas Pueblo comes alive with an artisan night market in Plaza Virgen de la Peña, paired with live music from local performers and a complementary tapas route on select nights. A relaxed, walk-up village experience that needs no Spanish - just browse handmade gifts, listen to the music and grab a tapa.
Once the heat drops out of the day, the little square by the church fills up with trestle tables and the soft clatter of an evening market. You'll find handmade jewellery, leather, ceramics and the kind of small gifts that actually survive the journey home, with stallholders happy to chat in English while you decide. Somewhere nearby a guitarist or a small band is usually playing, and the sound carries nicely across the whitewashed lanes.
It runs on summer evenings, typically Tuesdays and Thursdays through July and August, and it costs nothing to wander in. On certain nights there's a tapas route too, so you can pick at a few plates as you go. No tickets, no plan needed - just stroll up, take in the music and let the village do its thing as the lights come on.
