One of Spain's biggest LGBTQ+ celebrations turns Benidorm's old town into a week-long party each September.
Benidorm Pride has grown into one of the largest LGBTQ+ events in Spain, drawing big international crowds to the resort's old town each September. Across the better part of a week there are open-air concerts, drag and cabaret shows, pool parties and a colourful parade, with the bars of the Plaza Triangular area at the heart of it all.
What to expect. A friendly, high-energy festival with a mix of free street and square events and some ticketed headline shows. Early September keeps the weather summery while the worst of the peak-season crowds have eased.
Practical bit. Pride week books out Benidorm's central hotels fast, so reserve a place to stay early. The resort is walkable and well served by tram once you're there — though a hire car helps if you want to explore the wider Costa Blanca or stay somewhere quieter and travel in.
