Mare de Déu de Loreto 2026 — Jávea
Jávea's port quarter celebrates its patroness with bull-running, maritime processions and nightly fireworks.
If the Fogueres de Sant Joan are Jávea's June fiesta, the Mare de Déu de Loreto are its September ones — the festes of the port district, honouring the patroness of sailors over nearly two weeks from late August. The programme is a full Valencian spread: bous al carrer and bous a la mar, correfocs, a maritime procession around the harbour, parades, music and a fireworks display most nights.
What to expect. A second helping of Jávea fiesta energy, this time centred on the port rather than the old town, and pleasingly past the August peak. Dates follow the traditional pattern, so confirm the year's programme before travelling.
Practical bit. Jávea's three centres and tight fiesta-week parking make a hire car the sensible choice, especially if you're staying in Dénia, Moraira or one of the villas inland. It also unlocks the Montgó park and the Cap de la Nau coves on the quieter days.
