Pollença Festival - International Classical Music
The 65th edition of Pollença's prestigious international classical music festival, held in the atmospheric medieval cloister of Sant Domingo. The 2026 line-up includes pianist Daniil Trifonov with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra under Daniel Harding (5 Aug), the Freiburger Barockorchester (15 Aug) and pianist Seong-Jin Cho (19 Aug).
The setting does half the work here. Concerts unfold in the open stone cloister of the old Sant Domingo convent, where the music drifts up past arched columns into the warm night air. Performances tend to start late, around 10pm once the heat has eased, which suits both the acoustics and the mood. Bring a light layer; old stone holds the cool.
What lands it is the calibre. For a small Mallorcan town to pull in names like Daniil Trifonov, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra under Daniel Harding and the Freiburger Barockorchester says a lot about its 65-year reputation. Programmes run from August into late summer, so it's worth checking the line-up and booking the night that tempts you. Tickets are priced per concert and the popular evenings go early.
