Indiano Heritage Walk and Can Font House Museum Tour
A guided outdoor walk tracing Lloret's 'indiano' history (locals who made fortunes in the Americas), starting at the Maritime Museum and finishing with a visit inside the restored Can Font mansion. Places are limited; book at the Maritime Museum or online.
In the 19th century, plenty of young men left Lloret to seek their fortune in Cuba and the Americas, and the lucky ones came home rich. They built grand houses, paid for the church and schools, and generally reshaped the town. This guided walk follows their trail, setting off from the Maritime Museum along Passeig Verdaguer, past the town hall, Sant Romà church and the old parish schools, before heading inside the restored Can Font mansion.
The walk is led by the town's heritage team and runs in Catalan, so a bit of phrasebook nerve helps if your Spanish is thin. Can Font is the real draw: a returnee's family home, kept much as it was, so you get a proper look at how these newly wealthy households actually lived. Places are limited and you'll need to book ahead, either at the Maritime Museum or online. Tickets are 5.10 euros, or 2.60 reduced.
