Guided Walk through Poble Nou del Delta
An early-evening guided walk through Poble Nou del Delta, the small whitewashed village set in the Ebro Delta nature park, exploring its rural heritage and surrounding wetlands. Repeats on Thursdays through the summer.
Poble Nou del Delta is a planned village, a grid of low whitewashed houses set deep in the flatlands of the Ebro Delta nature park. The walk gathers at the village church at six in the evening, once the worst of the heat has eased and the light goes long across the rice fields. A guide takes you out through the streets and towards the surrounding wetlands, explaining how the village came to be and how people have farmed this watery ground for generations.
This is some of the best wetland country in Spain, so it pays to come prepared: bring water, a hat and something for mosquitoes, as the marshes are damp by nature. The walk runs on Thursday evenings through the summer. Check times, the price and book your place on the Amposta tourism site before you go.
