La Flamenca XXL Festival
A large-scale festival billed as Cadiz's first big flamenco fair, blending flamenquito and urban music across a full evening at the city's football stadium. Expect surprise guest artists and a stadium-sized production running from early evening into the small hours.
Cadiz throws its first proper flamenco fair at this, and it's gone big: the city's football ground, the Nuevo Mirandilla, turned over to a stadium production that runs from six in the evening until one in the morning. The sound is flamenquito, the breezier pop-flamenco that locals grew up on, spliced with urban hits, so expect plenty of singing along rather than the hushed reverence of a tablao.
Half the fun is the guessing game over who's playing. The line-up stays under wraps and guest artists get announced on the night, so you turn up not entirely sure who'll walk out. It's loud, it's late, and it leans young. If you fancy a Spanish crowd letting loose to music they actually know the words to, this is a good window into it. Tickets through the stadium site.
