Los Delinquentes Live in Cadiz
Cult Andalusian band Los Delinquentes return after nearly 15 years to mark the 25th anniversary of their debut album, performing it in full alongside anthems like La primavera trompetera. The show includes a moving synchronized tribute to late singer Er Migue.
Los Delinqüentes came out of Jerez in the late 1990s with a sound all their own, a loose, sunburnt mix of flamenco, rock, reggae, blues and funk that fans named the garrapatero sentiment. They went quiet for the best part of 15 years, which makes this Cadiz date something of an event for anyone who grew up on their records. The setlist runs the full debut album, marking its 25th birthday, plus the singalongs everyone knows: La primavera trompetera, A la luz del Lorenzo, El aire de la calle.
The tribute to late frontman Er Migue, told through projections synced to the music, is the part likely to catch in the throat. It kicks off at 10pm under the lights at the Estadio Nuevo Mirandilla, which is the right hour for this kind of music in July. You won't need the words to get swept along.
