Night Healthy Walk Through the Orchards
A 10 km guided night walk along Meliana's Healthy Route no. 6, winding through the market gardens and neighbouring villages of Almàssera and Alboraia. Walkers get reflective wristbands, a fruit-and-water stop at the halfway point and horchata at the finish; bring a flashlight.
Setting off at 10pm, this is a gentle 10km loop through the market gardens north of Valencia, done in the cool of a July night rather than the midday glare. You'll be handed a reflective wristband at the start, then it's roughly two hours on foot through the orchards and lanes of Almàssera and Alboraia, with a few mild rises but nothing that'll trouble most legs.
Halfway, around the 5km mark, there's a rest stop at the casetes dels Peixets in Alboraia for fruit and water. The walk finishes the way these things ought to in this corner of Spain: with a glass of horchata, the sweet tiger-nut drink that's made from chufa grown in these very fields. Bring a torch, wear something visible, and you've got a free, low-key evening out among the locals.
