Festival Cueva de Nerja 2026
Concerts and dance staged inside Nerja's vast caves — one of the most atmospheric stages in Spain.
Few concert venues anywhere match the Cuevas de Nerja. The festival, now in its sixth decade, stages music and dance inside the cathedral-sized caverns, the natural rock acoustics and dramatic lighting making for an unforgettable evening even before a note is played.
What to expect. A short, curated programme over several July nights, typically mixing classical concerts, flamenco and dance. Performances take place in the great chamber of the caves, so seating is limited and tickets are prized.
Practical bit. The caves are just outside Nerja, at the eastern end of the Costa del Sol, about an hour from Málaga. There's parking at the site, and a hire car is the simplest way to arrive for an evening show — public transport back along the coast late at night is limited. Bring a light layer: it's cooler underground than out in the July night.
Tickets go on sale ahead of the season through the official site; the headline nights sell quickly, so book early if a particular performance appeals.
