Women's Night 7-a-Side Football Tournament
An evening women's 7-a-side football tournament under the lights at Motril's municipal stadium, open to players aged 16 and over, with prizes, fruit and surprises for participants. Registration is 10 euros per player by phone.
Come the evening of 20 June, the floodlights go on at Motril's Escribano Castilla stadium and the women's seven-a-side gets underway around half nine, once the worst of the heat has gone. It runs as a proper league working through to semis and a final, so there's more than one match to watch and the football keeps coming rather than fizzling out after a single knockout.
Players are 16 and up, and the organisers clearly think about the people on the pitch: there's water and fruit on the go through the night, plus prizes and a few surprises along the way. Registration is 10 euros a player, sorted by phone (663 054 216). If you fancy a relaxed night out, it's an easy, free watch from the stands, and a genuinely local slice of Motril sport rather than anything laid on for visitors.
