World Music Nights at Plaça d'Europa (Music in the Squares)

Es Pujols slows right down once the sun's gone, and on a Thursday the square fills up well before the music starts at half ten. It's part of the island's "Music in the Squares" run, so the world-music line-up shifts week to week and you never quite know what you'll get until you turn up. Plaça d'Europa is ringed by bars and restaurants, so you can order a drink, drag a chair across and settle in without paying a cent.

Go early-ish if you want a proper spot, as the good chairs vanish fast and the rest of the crowd makes do standing at the edges. The concerts run on Thursdays right through summer, so there's no need to cram it all into one trip. Just turn up, see who's playing, and stay as long as the night holds you.
