DANZANTES: Open-Air Contemporary Dance with Elida Dorta
A travelling contemporary dance evening at the village's main square, where dancer Elida Dorta performs 'VACUI', a piece about slowing down and finding stillness in a noisy, hyper-connected world. Open-air and free to watch, no Spanish needed.
No theatre, no stage, no ticket. Just the Plaza de La Paz on a summer evening, the light going soft, and Elida Dorta moving through it while the village gathers round. Her piece, 'VACUI', is built on the idea of doing less: pausing, sitting with the quiet, letting the body slow down after a day of screens and noise. It's the opening night of DANZANTES, a roving dance series that takes contemporary work out into squares and streets rather than keeping it behind doors.
You don't need a word of Spanish to follow it, which is part of the point. Wander over, find a spot, and watch. It's the kind of slow, unhurried thing that sticks with you longer than you'd expect.
