The Lion King Musical (open-air show)
An open-air staging of The Lion King musical on Muro's main square during the Sant Joan fiestas. A spectacle of song and dance that works well for families and non-Spanish speakers; just turn up.
Muro turns its main square, the Plaça Major, into a stage for the night. The show starts at 10pm on 18 June, which is the sensible hour on Mallorca in summer, once the heat has dropped and the kids are happy to stay up. It's a town event rather than a slick tourist production, so expect a proper local crowd filling the square.
The musical leans on the songs and the spectacle, the lions and the African plains brought to life through costume and movement, so the language barrier mostly melts away. You'll recognise the music whether or not you follow every word. Get there early for a decent spot, and have a wander round Muro beforehand for a bite and a drink while the square fills up.
