Festes Majors (Patron Saint Festivals)
The town's main annual fiestas honour its patron saints over early-to-mid September with processions, fireworks and mascleta, communal paellas and breakfasts, live orchestras, circus shows and sports competitions, plus a strong focus on children's activities. Dates given are based on the 2025 calendar; the 2026 programme is expected to be published closer to the event.
La Pobla de Farnals gives its September fiestas over to the kids, but there's plenty here for everyone. Days open with a popular breakfast in the square and, on one morning, huge communal calderas bubbling away from dawn before being dished out around lunchtime. Expect a circus troupe in Generalitat square, an outdoor film for the little ones, a Holi colour fest, and a Moors and Christians parade down at the beach.
By night the squares fill with orchestras playing until first light, comedy turns at midnight and the odd theatrical spectacle. There's the mascletà too, a deafening daytime barrage of firecrackers you feel in your chest, plus solemn processions for the town's patron saints mid-fortnight. The street events are free; dates shift with the calendar, so check the local programme nearer the time before you build a day around it.
