Feria de Pedro Romero & Corrida Goyesca 2026 — Ronda
Ronda's September fair crowns itself with the Goyesca — a bullfight in 18th-century costume at Spain's most storied ring.
The mountain town of Ronda honours Pedro Romero, the legendary 18th-century matador, with a fair each September whose centrepiece is the Corrida Goyesca — a bullfight in which participants and spectators dress in the Goya-era costume that inspired the name, staged in the spectacular 1785 Plaza de Toros, one of the oldest and grandest bullrings in Spain. Around it runs a classic Andalusian feria of flamenco, casetas and parades.
What to expect. A few intense days built around the historic ring and the town's feria de día. The Goyesca itself is a ticketed event and a hot draw; the wider fair is free and fills Ronda's streets. (If bullfighting isn't for you, the costumed pageantry, flamenco and setting are the attraction.)
Practical bit. Ronda sits high in the Serranía, an hour or so up from the coast on a famously scenic road past the white villages. A hire car is by far the best way to reach it — and to make a day of the Tajo gorge, the old town and the pueblos blancos around the feria.
